Anyone love airshows? I rather like them and one day will get back to cosford which I think is next w/e . Hoping to see red arrows and typhoon team and lots of other stuff in paignton this weekend . They are hoping for 165,000 people so that should be fun ...not!

Never been to one Phil , not something I have thought about , I have admired a few old craft flying over when there has been a local show , and the Red Arrows have been over a number of times over the years , I take it RAF Valley in Anglesey would have been their base .

had an interesting session with former Red Arrows Group Capt, mainly about how they select, not as you think actually, I have used that learning a number of times over the years. Anyway he did tell us that if you have an event, say a village fete, if you enquire they will do a fly pass if it’s on route to where they are going, will drop down and light smoke for free!

Will probably go to the next Duxford show later in the year. Been to many over the years, starting with the Prestwick airshow in the seventies and eighties as a kid. Gradually got smaller and smaller unfortunately. RIAT at Fairford is definitely worth a go if you are nearish.

Never been to Cosford, wither airshow or the museum. Will try and get over this year also.

I have only been to 1 event that was at the old Barton Aerodrome on the West side of Manchester. Thought it was interesting but largely uneventful until I heard a low growl in the east, then in swept the Vulcan (no not Spock ) I have never heard such a noise, and yes the earth did move, quite a spectacle, but sadly no more.

Well , if you do get a chance to get to a show it's well worth it. Watching and feeling a might eurofighter swooping over the English Riviera was absolutely awesome today
